Last week, my family and I needed a nutrition boost after a weekend of pretty lousy eating during Winter Storm Nemo — goldfish crackers, pizza heated on the skillet, peanut butter by the jarful – you get the idea. We did the best we could (and had a lot of fun foraging through our pantry and freezer), but by the time the power returned, we were all ready for a recharge.
With this reboot in mind, I pulled my copy of The Kind Diet by Alicia Silverstone off the shelf and I am so glad that I did! Let the healing begin. As I began to leaf through the recipes, I realized that the true beauty of this book lies in its balance . Just a small tweak here, a shift there to our usual diets — more warming grains, vegetables, broths and soups for example — brought my family back beautifully from chaos to balance. The Kind Diet has been out for a few years now, but I felt it deserved a reintroduction!
Here is a great interview with Alica Silverstone to get you started and if this sound interesting, let’s get the discussion rolling! Check out The Kind Diet and Alicia’s website, The Kind Life and let me know what you think!
I really loved this book, I liked how she explained everything, how she had three different options and how she is very low-pressure about it. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to eat healthier.
Okay I’m in love with her & officially must read this book! KIND … Could not be more guided!!
Ps. Is it weird your snow in peanut butter pizza party actually sounded pretty fun?
